Geological modelling allows the development of geo-thematic maps that represent different characteristics or properties of the materials or units.
Before representing this information on maps, there is always a process of understanding and interpretation, which we call creating a model. This model must fit the available data in a conceptually sound manner.
The representation may be accompanied by additional elements, such as text and diagrams, to supplement information and help in understanding the model represented.
